Caring for you glasses
Specs2you® recommend that you use the right cleaning solution to care for your lenses (i.e. specific glass cleaner, nothing abrasive). <Click here to order direct from us>
Occasionally wash your glasses gently in warm soapy water
Use the lens cloth provided to wipe your lenses clear of any smearing and dust or dirt.
When not wearing your glasses Specs2you® recommend that you always keep them in the hard case provided with every order.
Do not use tissue to clean your lenses as this material can prove abrasive to the lenses. Do not clean your lenses with your tie or shirt either!
Finally, do not use washing up liquid or any other detergents or your lenses as they could damage/scratch the coated lenses.
First time Glasses or a change in prescription.
If it is the first time you have had glasses or you have had a change in prescription, you may experience the problems stated below. This can take anything from a day to a week to get used to. If it continues after this you should consult the Optician who carried out your sight test.
• |
Ground or surfaces sloping. (First time glasses or change in the cyl on your prescription, can take up to a week to get used to. You may also experience dizziness.) |
• |
Feeling taller or smaller. (First time glasses or an increase in prescription. This is common with the increase in your reading prescription.) |
• |
If you have Bi-focals for the first time , be aware you have a reading prescription in the same lens. (You may look to the floor and experience the ground coming up to you. Tilting your head further will help avoid this.) |
• |
You may experience colour or visual distortions with a change in the lens thickness. (New higher index lens, 1.6 to a 1.67) |
• |
If your reading prescription is increased, you will need to move your script closer to focus. (@ 35cm from your face) |
All these are quite normal with a new or changed prescription and as stated earlier can take anything from a day to a week to get used to.
